From Zero to One
From Zero to One (performance, Kunstvlaai, Amsterdam, 1999) examines the boundaries of the impossible. The expression 4(x·x) – 4(x·x – x) yields values that fluctuate between zero and one, yet never repeat. Similarly, the puzzle “House X” involves finding a path through a finite graph that visits every edge exactly once. In this performance, the artist competes absurdly against her own recorded image, ultimately embracing failure as the only resolution. By treating the screen as a spatial dimension, the work questions time, repetition, and our pursuit of the unattainable.
